  • Pick up at your hotel in an Air Condition Vehicle at 10:00am for Half Day Accra City tour with a trained and experience tour guide who will be with you telling you the history of the important monuments in the city and overview information of the capital city.
  • Drive through the St. Atta Mills High Street through the oldest town in Accra named Jamestown which was built in 1871. This drive through will give you an opportunity to see some important building such the Ussher fort and also the Jamestown lighthouse.
  • Continue to Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the final resting place of Ghana’s first president. The Park is also a gravesite for Kwame Nkrumah and his wife Fathia Nkrumah. The Park was built on a former British Polo where Ghana’s independence was declared in 1957. The museum also hosts exhibitions, lectures and events that promotes awareness of Ghana’s history.
  • Onward to Art Center the home of authentic Ghanaian Arts and culture. This is an outdoor market place to get souvenirs whiles supporting local artists. Some handicrafts like wood carvings, beads, woven Kente cloth, leather bags, earrings and other fashion accessories. You will also have the opportunity to try your begging skills.
  • Depart to the independence Square which is also known as the black star square, built in 1961. At the Square, the three statues symbolizing the struggle for independence and emancipation. These monuments include the Independence Arch, which is located south of the square and has the Gulf of Guinea as its backdrop.

  • Visit to Cape Coast Castle which is one of the most iconic landmarks in Ghanaian and African history as a whole. As you embark on a captivating journey through time, you explore the corridors, dungeons, and chambers of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

  • Depart to Elmina Castle the oldest European fortification in tropical Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn about the history and pay tribute to the millions of Africans who were forcibly taken from their homeland and sold into Slavery.
  •  Continue to Kakum National Park which covers an area of 375 square kilometers (145 sq mi) and was established in 1931 as a reserve. The park is known for its diversity wildlife, lush rainforest and canopy walkway. You will experience walking through seven suspended bridges, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding area.
  • Onward to Hans Cottage for lunch. After lunch, you will have the opportunity to see friendly crocodiles in their natural habitat. Experience Hans Cottage’s enchantment and take photos with the friendliest crocodiles you have ever met.

  • The Palace Museum offers a fascinating excursion through the history of this powerful tribe and is extremely informative on the well documented Ashanti history and culture. Our tour gives us a firsthand insight into the legacies of the Ashanti’s and enables us to understand their culture.
  • Continue to the National Cultural Centre. Visit Prempeh II Jubilee Museum which offers an excellent overview of Ashanti history and houses some wonderful ancient artifacts.
  • Enjoy Lunch.
  • Continue to Kejetia Market which is reported to be largest outdoor market in West Africa. Visiting here gives us a wonderful opportunity to experience everyday life for the people in this great city and pick up a few bargain souvenirs. The market is a labyrinth of stalls nestled closely together, and a hive of activity.

  • We continue our journey through Ashanti history by visiting the traditional villages of Adanwomase and Ntonso.
  • Our first stop is Adanwomase, the birthplace of Ghana’s rich colorful Kente cloth. Adanwomase produces some of Ghana’s finest Kente cloth, many designs of cloth arewoven here, and some are exclusive only to this region.
  • Continue to ancient village of Ntunso, is where adinkra cloth and symbols originate. These traditional symbols all have meanings and are carved from calabash shells. The adinkra symbols are then printed onto traditional cloth using natural dyes made from the bark of certain local trees. During our time here, we can make our own strip of adinkra cloth using symbols with personal significance.
